Henry T. Brown

Henry T. Brown (Hanky) was born in Pittsburgh, PA. on May 29, 1961. He was one of the 11 "Brown Boys" born to the late William H. and Francis 'Dubby' Thompson-Brown. His siblings included William Lacardo Smith (Tawn), The late Darvin Carlos Smith (BooBoo), Gary Reid-Brown, Cardell Nino Brown Sr. (NeNe), Edward Alphonso Brown (Pig), Johnathan Brown (Porky), Ronald Brown (Ronnie), James Regis Brown (Jim-Jim), Jerome Frank Brown (Rome), and William Brown (Be-Be). Family was everything to Hanky. His sons and grandchildren meant the world to him. He leaves to morn 3 beloved sons who loved him dearly and will forever cherish his memory: Marcus Gibson, Henry Wade, and Raevon Gibson (Dink), as well as 6 grandchildren who are blessed and gifted with his honorable legacy: Rayd'von E. Harris, Ky'rae L. Harris Wade, Julius A. Wade, Julianna A. Wade, the late Marcus Gibson Jr., Maryah Gibson, and Breona Gibson. Hanky was baptized at an early age, and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended the Pittsburgh Public schools and also graduated from Triangle Tech system of technical schools as a certified welder of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Afterwards, Hanky was accepted into the Boilermakers Union Apprenticeship program as one of the youngest recruits where he received his Journeyman's papers. He retired with over 35 years of dedicated service. During his extracurricular activities Hanky was an avid bingo player, an active member of The Riding High Motorcycle Club, a horse jockey who owned several horses and love, love, love to ride them while wearing his Indian bonnet, a movie buff connoisseur; expert on cinema and films, and he often boast about his excellent cooking skills who was known to put his foot down in the dishes that he so eloquently and freeheartedly served (every and anyone in need). Hanky was also known to cut a rug, dancing the night away with his two step side-to-side smooth moves when his jams played. A child at heart Hanky was a collector of vintage video arcade games amongst many other things. To know Hanky was to love Hanky because he loved unconditionally and through his sickness never once complained. Hanky departed this life on August 23, 2021, in the Montefiore Medical Center-Hospital. His lasting memories will forever live on through his brothers and sister-in-law, William Lacardo Smith, Gary Reid-Brown, Cardell Nino Brown Sr., (Reneé Drummond-Brown), Edward Alphonso Brown, Johnathan Brown, Ronald Brown, James Regis Brown, Jerome Frank Brown, and William Brown, children: Marcus Gibson, Henry Wade, and Raevon Gibson, grandchildren: Rayd'von E. Harris, Ky'rae L. Harris Wade, Julius A. Wade, Julianna A. Wade, Maryah Gibson, and Breona Gibson, nieces, nephews, relatives 'and a host of dear friends. Hanky was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Brown, brother Darvin Carlos Smith, and grandson the late Marcus Gibson Jr. Visitation on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the D'ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY LTD., Butler and 46th Sts., Lawrenceville where service will be held on Thursday at 12 Noon. www.dalessandroltd.com
