Ronald L. Schomburger

Ronald L. Schomburger, 93, of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior June 3, 2026. He was born June 28, 1932, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Lawrence M. and Stella (Geib) Schomburger. Ron was preceded in death by his infant brother Lawrence Schomburger and his sisters, Betty Berberich and Dorothy Werth. Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Doris (Brim) Schomburger; his son, Gary Schomburger (Stacey); his daughter, Faith Gabriel (Jonathan); his grandchildren, Ronald (Yasemin), Heather (Dustin), Allison (Joshua), Ryan and Kristen (Damian); and his great-grandchildren Olivia, Dillon, Madelyn, Logan, Amelia, Abigail and Declan. Ron was a devoted husband to the love of his life and best friend, Doris and they shared 67 beautiful years of marriage together. Ron proudly served in the U.S. Navy for two years from 1955-1957 and was stationed in Hawaii and Japan. Following his time in the service he operated a home building business, Singer & Schomburger with his late friend Otto Singer for nearly a decade. After Ron and Doris started their family, he joined the Carpenters Union and worked for Uhl Construction Company for 27 years before retiring in 1994. Ron will be remembered as a faithful, loving and protective husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He embraced these roles with great sincerity and taught his family the importance of having a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ, living a life of integrity, strong work ethic and the wonderful gift of laughter. Ron always led by example. His life was a testament reflecting his belief that the most valuable things in this world are a personal relationship with God and love and devotion to family. Ron and Doris began attending Northgate Bible Baptist Church in 1965 where he faithfully served as an Elder, a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher and a greeter alongside his beloved wife. Ron greatly enjoyed studying and teaching God's Word and led various Bible Studies at church and in his home. He was also very instrumental in helping his late brother-in-law, Pastor Robert Brim, establish two new churches. Ron and Doris also enjoyed visiting nursing homes which included a time of singing hymns and sharing a biblical message of God's love and grace. Spending quality time with family was always a high priority. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing, boating, many various indoor and outdoor games, and picnics at all the local parks. He was also an avid lifelong sports fan for his favorite Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. Even at the age of 93, Ron always had a joyful personality, a wonderful sense of humor and a quiet generosity that touched many lives. He loved to inspire smiles and laughter with his words of encouragement and vast repertoire of jokes. Once you met Ron you had a genuine and faithful friend for life. He was deeply loved by many. His family is eternally grateful for the priceless gift of his godly legacy and for the myriad of cherished memories that we will forever treasure in our hearts. To honor Ron's wishes, a private service will be held for the immediate family only.
