Shirley Mae King

Shirley Mae (Davis) King Age 91, surrounded by family, went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2026. She was born on October 15, 1934, in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, to George and Evelyn Davis. During her married life, Shirley made her home in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, and Ithaca, New York. Shirley was the devoted and beloved wife of the late Graham Winfield King Jr., the love of her life. Together, they shared a lifetime of devotion and built a beautiful family. She was a loving mother to Amy (Robert) Konop, the late Elaine (Kevin) Ankrom, Darlene (Jeffery) Sauers, and Alison (Brian) Ickes. Shirley was a proud and devoted grandmother to Bailey (Jeremy) Norton, Sylvia (Jacob) Toy, Jared (Libby) Konop, Jeffery and Tristan Sauers, and Josephine and Jesse Ickes. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Gwendolyn, Greyson, Andie, and Elijah, who brought her immense joy. She is survived by her sister-in-law and best friend, Mary Louise (King) Sallade, and by her precious dog, Ladybug, who brought her great happiness and companionship. Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings: Robert Davis, Samuel (Margaret Ann) Davis, Evelyn Carrigan, Agnes (Jack) Miller, George (Mary Jane) Davis, William (Wanda) Davis, Richard (Audrey) Davis, and Nancy Davis, as well as her sister-in-law Virginia (King) Reibert. Shirley was a warm and gentle soul who was loved by all who knew her. Even in her final days, her doctors often remarked on what an amazing person and patient she was. Her life was a true testament to selflessness-she consistently put others before herself and had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her grandchildren will fondly remember Christmases at Grandma Shirley's, where she joyfully handed out gifts for hours. Family was always her top priority, and she leaves behind countless cherished memories, including summers spent at the pool, trips to amusement parks, and a special family vacation to the Florida Keys.
