Donald F. Steele Jr. Don Steele famous for never missing a flight took his last flight on September 27, 2021. Born in Philadelphia Pa. in 1932 to Donald F. Steele Sr. and Elizabeth Collins, Don was a graduate of Germantown Friends School and later Lafayette College where he made many lifetime friends. He later served in the US Army as 1st Lieutenant and served our country at home and abroad. A successful career in the steel industry followed. Don retired at age 62 as the National Sales Manager for British Petroleum where he was loved by colleagues and customers alike. A longtime member of the Philadelphia Cricket Club, as well as a member of Edgewood County Club, his love of golf also took him to 18 Masters Tournaments. Don was an intellectual avidly on top of current events as a reader of 3 newspapers a day and 2 books every week. He married the love of his life, Carol Elvin, in 2007. They shared a life and love together with a wide circle of family and friends. Don and Carol loved their Myrtle Beach trips. Don would go poolside early every morning to secure their side-by-side lounges which was always by the pool bar. Don is survived by his wife Carol, beloved daughter Alexandra, dedicated son Donald III, Carol's daughter Carissa, and loving family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date yet to be determined.
