Helen A. Kaleida Age 95, of Pittsburgh, died on January 16, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late Henry Kaleida; beloved mother of Rose Marie McKenna, Phillip (Elizabeth) Kaleida, M.D., and Kenneth (Donna) Kaleida, M.Ed.; proud grandmother of Matthew McKenna, William McKenna, Andrew Kaleida, Alex Kaleida, Emily Castilla, Molly Gunther and Moira Kaleida; joyful great-grandmother of eight beautiful great-grandchildren; sister of the late John J. Reimond, Sr., and Edward Reimond; and stepsister of the late Sophie Wachulski; also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Helen was born and raised in Pittsburgh and spent 54 years in a happy, loving marriage to her husband, who was a former steelworker and Senior Olympian. Helen was dedicated to her family and friends. As a Senior Citizen, she enjoyed participating in dance groups and also the Senior Olympics with her husband: she was his biggest fan! Their entire marriage was centered on their love for each other and their faith in God. She was very proud of her Polish heritage. In her earlier years, Helen was a member of St. Basil Church (Carrick) and in later years of St. Augustine Church (Lawrenceville). The family thanks the staff and administration of Norbert Personal Care and Seven Oaks Hospice Care for their compassionate care of Helen. Visitation Tuesday, January 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at D'Alessandro Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 4522 Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201. Where friends and family will gather on Wednesday, January 20, 10am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Angels Parish/St. Augustine Catholic Church, 225 37th St., Pittsburgh, PA, 15201 at 11am. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Basil Church or the charity of your choice.
