Born on October 13, 1952, in Morristown, NJ, David was a man whose life was defined by his resilience and humor. David was the beloved son of June Arlene Klinkowstein and Charles Maka, who predeceased him. He grew up in a household where the values of hard work, which was instilled in him from an early age. He graduated from Dover High School in the Class of 1970, marking the beginning of a journey that would see him dedicate 40 years to the Verizon phone company. Starting as a Splicer and later transitioning to the role of Inspector, David's commitment to his work was unwavering until his retirement in 2010 at the age of 58. An avid sports fan, David had a passion for football, baseball, and basketball. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, bringing his characteristic enthusiasm and loyalty to every game. His love for sports was rivaled only by his appreciation for the timeless music of the 1960s. The sounds of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Dylan filled his home, providing a soundtrack to his life that echoed his spirit of joy and creativity. Though David lived a solitary life, he possessed a remarkable ability to find humor in even the most challenging situations. His great sense of humor was a beacon of light to those around him. David's laughter and lighthearted perspective on life left a lasting impact on his friends and family, who will forever remember the warmth he brought into their lives. He is survived by his beloved son, Cory Maka, who was not only his pride and joy but also a source of strength and inspiration for him.
